The ground-floor cocktail bar of the Corpo Santo Lisbon Historical Hotel, 146 Bar builds its current list around the Seven Wonders of the Modern World, with head bartender Luís Duarte behind the stick and petiscos (and a house burger) alongside. The hotel says guests have voted it Lisbon's most recommended bar four years running.

An 'aperitivo bar with a Portuguese twist' in Chiado, 18.68 is the standalone reincarnation of the bar originally at the Bairro Alto Hotel, run by the Red Frog and Monkey Mash partners Emanuel Minez and Paulo Gomes. The current 'Tiles & Formes' menu moves through Negroni and Martini series, highballs and boozeless serves in a room that channels Chiado's elegant era.
Established in 2004, Cinco Lounge has been a destination for cocktail lovers in Príncipe Real for more than twenty years, over fifty classics and signatures on the list, plus workshops, private events and even a takeaway cocktail program. One of the rooms where Lisbon's modern cocktail culture grew up.

Over 45 years old by its own count, Bar Foxtrot is Lisbon's Art Deco institution: an English-pub-spirited warren of four dimly lit rooms off Praça das Flores, with a fireplace, an interior garden and billiards tables. House creations like the Smoked Negroni sit beside the classics, and the kitchen sends out the Bife à Foxtrot until 1:30am.

A self-described Modern Tropical Bar on Praça da Alegria, Monkey Mash reimagines the great masters' recipes with modern technique, the current 'Dystopia Society' menu even pre-dilutes and temperature-serves some cocktails to eliminate ice-water waste. Opened in 2011 in a restored early-20th-century brothel on Cais do Sodré's Pink Street, Pensão Amor is Lisbon nightlife at its most theatrical, themed bar rooms, author cocktails, pole dance, burlesque, poetry and live music. A 2022 restoration added Madam's Lodge, boutique rooms decorated with 1960s-era artifacts from the building's former life.
Alf del Portillo and Marta Premoli's Basque-Italian bar in São Cristóvão, opened late 2021, spritzes, negronis, sherries, Italian vermouths and amaro cocktails, Basque sidra poured from the barrel, and pintxos on the counter. Small room; walk-ins only, groups of six at most.
Founded in May 2015 as, by its own account, the first speakeasy on the Iberian Peninsula, Red Frog relocated after 2020 into the building of sister bar Monkey Mash, behind the press-for-cocktails doorbell. Named for Red Frog Island in Panama, it pours modernist takes on the classics with Portuguese ingredients; a five-time World's 50 Best entrant, peaking at No.40 in 2022. Reservations essential.
On the rooftop of the Altis Avenida Hotel, Rossio Gastrobar looks out over Praça do Rossio to the castle and the Tejo, chef João Correia's seasonal sharing plates on artisanal Portuguese ceramics, cocktails with and without alcohol, an Art Deco room and live music.
Nine floors above Avenida da Liberdade at the Tivoli, SEEN Sky Bar is chef Olivier da Costa's 360-degree rooftop, European-Japanese fusion plates, resident and guest DJs, and a 1930s Art Deco-inspired room by architect Sidney Quintela. The bar list leans playful: a pastel-de-nata cocktail leads the Lisbon chapter.

Constança Cordeiro's fox den, 'toca da raposa' plays on her surname, opened in Chiado in 2018: raw concrete, velvet couches and a pink limestone bar, with ten to fourteen all-original, animal-named drinks built on plants and herbs foraged near Lisbon and infused or distilled in-house. Cordeiro also runs exclusive sister bar UNI.
