Founded by London-born Sam Orrock (ex-Scout), Wax On strips away garnish and theatrics: rotary evaporators, centrifuges and fermentation do the work backstage, many drinks arrive pre-batched on tap for consistency, and the room keeps its warm, minimalist neighborhood feel, fireplace included. KINK Bar

KINK fills a former ballroom at the Pfefferberg complex in Prenzlauer Berg, high ceilings, French terrace doors, and Kerim Seiler's iridescent 'Space Knot' installation overhead. The drinks philosophy is reimagined classics over trends ('without basics, no madness'), beside a modern international kitchen and weekend brunch. Cards only.

100 Gramm Bar

'Your living room for Berlin', 100 GRAMM sits on Rosenthaler Platz in Mitte, pouring until 3am on weeknights and 5am at the weekend, with a separate lounge running Thursday to Saturday. The house leans on hospitality and community, with vodka infusions and signature builds like their Espresso Martini and Gin Basil Smash the calling cards.

Bar Immertreu

A small classic cocktail bar in Prenzlauer Berg run by Ricardo Albrecht, built around a stated "serious drinking" philosophy of short, spirit-forward drinks with few ingredients. The back bar concentrates on premium spirits, champagne and a collection of bourbon, Scotch, rum and gin. House rules are explicit: no WiFi, no happy hour, cash only.

Becketts Kopf

'A bar for the refinement of the senses': behind Samuel Beckett's monochrome portrait in a Prenzlauer Berg doorway, husband-and-wife team Oliver Ebert and Cristina Neves serve a concise list of around fifteen classic cocktails built on handcrafted distillates, with menus printed inside vintage paperbacks of Beckett's works.

Gonçalo de Sousa Monteiro's hidden Mitte room seats just fourteen around a sleek central bar, matt-black walls, a gold chainsaw and a glass-encased plush octopus among the objets d'art. Strong, icy cocktails from regularly changing menus, the house Buck & Breck London Dry Gin, and three rules: no credit cards, no mobile phones, no groups.

Green Door

Behind a green door in Schöneberg since 1995, this American-style speakeasy runs on 'the power of positive drinking', a long wooden counter, walls painted by artist Thomas Hauser, furniture shipped from New York in the nineties, and an interior somewhere between a private salon and a David Lynch film. Hildegard Bar

A cocktail bar just off Kurfürstendamm founded by career bartender Thomas Pflanz. The room is quiet and low-key, with dusky pink walls and a palm frond mural. Entry is restricted to guests aged 18 and over, and telephone reservations are taken from 17:30 on opening days.

LIMONADIER Cocktailbar

A 1920s-style classic cocktail bar in Kreuzberg's Bergmannkiez, Limonadier takes its name from the 18th-century lemonade-makers' trade, house syrups, lemonades and liqueurs macerated on organic beet alcohol, plus its own barrel-aged Bergmann Gin (47.4%) served through house Manhattan and Martinez variations. Patesô

Founded in 2021 and named for the Vietnamese puff pastry pâté chaud, Patesô is a Mitte cocktail bar drawn from Berlin's multicultural communities, bourbon, gin, mezcal and pisco from around the world, well-crafted drinks, famously good popcorn, and a genuinely inclusive, pet-friendly room. The team also runs 'Patesô on the road', a mobile bar for events.

Provocateur Bar

The bar of the Provocateur hotel, a 1920s-themed boutique property in the Sircle Collection, decorated in crimson velvet and gold.
