Macau pairs casino hotel bars with a local scene worth exploring, split between Cotai and the old peninsula. The best bars in Macau start in Cotai at The St. Regis Bar, inside The Londoner, No. 45 on Asia's 50 Best Bars 2026 after No. 22 in 2024, which pairs New York heritage with live jazz and a Bloody Mary twist called Maria do Leste. Mesa Bar at The Karl Lagerfeld serves drinks that tell Portuguese and Chinese stories from an island bar shaped like a Chinese birdcage, and Wing Lei Bar at Wynn Palace sparkles like a jewel box. Goa Nights, open since 2018 and now at Broadway Macau, mixes cocktails from scratch to go with Indian and Goan plates. On the peninsula, Two Moons began in 2020 as a whisky haven and now pours coffee by day and cocktails, numbered one to ten, at night. The St. Regis Bar sets a smart casual dress code after 7pm and fills up, so book. These are the six we would start with.

The St. Regis Bar sits on the second floor of The St. Regis Macao within The Londoner Macao, carrying the brand's New York heritage and its jazz legacy into a contemporary room. Its signature is Maria do Leste, a Macao reading of the St. Regis Bloody Mary built around the city's east-meets-west identity, and the bar also runs an afternoon tea service.
Mesa Bar is the bar of Mesa by José Avillez, the contemporary Portuguese restaurant on Level 3 of The Karl Lagerfeld at Grand Lisboa Palace in Cotai. The room weaves Chinese iconography into Karl Lagerfeld's black, white and gold style, and the bar itself is a central island modeled on a birdcage. Resort Master Mixologist Frederick Ma builds drinks that tell stories of Portuguese and Chinese heritage and trace the old sea routes between Lisbon and Macau, among them the Casa de Abelha and Holy Wood. Herbs are grown in house, fruit remnants from the kitchen become kombucha and mead, and the spirits come from ecoSPIRITS. It was No. 82 on the Asia's 50 Best Bars 51-100 list in 2022.

Goa Nights opened in 2018 in Old Taipa Village, one of the first independent craft cocktail bars in a city of hotel bars. Co-founder Gagan Sethi runs it with his wife Gwen Trott and his sister Shilpa Sethi, and the drinks draw on Goa's past as a Portuguese colony. In August 2024 it moved to a larger space on Broadway Food Street at Broadway Macau, with outdoor seating. Cocktails such as the St Paul's Ruins are made from scratch, with spirits infused in house with cardamom and cumin. Indian and Goan plates come alongside, and guests can step behind the bar to shake their own drink. It was No. 100 on the Asia's 50 Best Bars 51-100 list in 2021.

At the heart of Wynn Palace, Wing Lei Bar is a crossroads where East meets West. Wynn Palace hosted the Asia's 50 Best Bars 2025 awards ceremony, and the bar is helmed by Head Mixologist Mark Lloyd.
Two Moons sits on Rua de Pedro Nolasco da Silva in the historic center of Macau, directly across from the Consulate General of Portugal, and was opened in 2020 by Frankie Leong, who had tended bar at Milroy's of Soho, the oldest independent whisky specialist in London. It began as a haven for whisky drinkers and grew into a bar devoted to fine spirits more broadly, with shelves that reach well past Scotland. By day the room works as a coffee shop, and the coffee is treated with the same care as the drinks poured later. The cocktail list is deliberately short, numbered simply one to ten, and ranges from Spanish brandy to Japanese shochu; an eleventh option is whatever the bar team builds around a guest's taste.
