The 16 Best Bars in Poland

The best bars in Poland are spread across the country, with standout rooms in Kraków, Katowice and Gdańsk. In Kraków, Maciej Mazur's Tag covers its walls and ceiling in neon scribbles and builds its Trueschool menu on 14 rap genres; it is the only Polish bar on Europe's 50 Best Bars, at No. 39 in its first edition this year, and was named the best bar in Poland. Art Katowice, from Monika Kaźmierczak and Krzysztof Ciemiera on Warszawska, has a gallery-like room and sofas made from locally produced jeans, and won the Campari One To Watch Award at Europe's 50 Best Bars 2026. In Gdańsk, Flisak '76 has stayed with one family since it opened in 1976, now in its third generation, and runs a circus-themed menu called The Greatest Show! Żubrówka, the bison grass vodka, takes its grass from around the Białowieża Forest, and a recipe for it was known as early as 1534. Tag takes bookings on its website and shuts its doors half an hour before closing time. These are the sixteen we would start with.

  4. Donkey Shoe
    Speakeasy

    Donkey Shoe

Donkey Shoe is a modern cocktail bar hidden in the Werner Passage of Fabryka Norblina, marked only by metal doors carrying a horseshoe. The concept takes its cue from the concealed venues that followed the start of Prohibition in the United States in 1919, and it narrows that history down to Texas and Mexico, the border regions that carried smuggled spirits. The back bar reflects that focus with a wide selection of agave distillates and American corn spirits. The team shakes and stirs classics and will rebuild a guest's own favorite where it can. A section of the menu headed The Donkey's Signatures leads with the Funky Donkey. Live music and cocktail workshops run alongside the drinks.

    Cocktail Bar

    Monkey Love

Monkey Love sits on the Vistula bank at Bulwar Flotylli Pińskiej, out on the Czerniakowski headland, and the team behind it says plainly that it is not a restaurant, not a bar and not a club. The model is the listening bar, built on vintage analogue audio and lighting designed for the room. Bar manager Damian Mielniczek runs a list whose Autorskie section includes Señorita Mantequilla, with Herradura Silver, browned butter, honey caramelized banana and lime, alongside the house Monkey Sling. Kombucha, syrups, infusions and edible hibiscus paper are made in house. Marcin Molik's kitchen leans Asian, and a garden opens onto the water in warmer months.
