The Bar in Front of the Bar serves a short, daily-changing menu through a hatch and is No. 19 on the same world list; its C.R.E.A.M. blends tsipouro, mastic and Greek herbs. Mastiha is the local flavor to look for: the lentisk bush gives up its resin only on the island of Chios. In Thessaloniki, Achilleas Plakidas's Gorilla in Ano Ladadika pours from a menu called Welcome to the Zoo and is No. 33 on Europe's 50 Best Bars 2026. In a former art-gallery warehouse, the bar runs a circular, zero-waste model: house-fermented fruit wines (the 'Why-ins', made with winemaker Thanos Georgilas), its own beers and sourdough, and drinks like the Delusional Margarita of mustard, ketchup and potato water.

Founders Alexandros Tselepis, Konstantinos Theodorakopoulos and Simeon Papanikolaou run traditional sibling Rumble in the Jungle behind it. 'Streets are the new family.'
