The 50 Best Bars 2026 extended ranking is here: on September 23, 2026, the organization unveiled the bars ranked No.51 to No.100, marking the tenth consecutive year of the 51-100 list. Published two weeks ahead of the awards ceremony in Milan, the extended ranking spans 34 cities and features 13 new entries, including first-ever appearances from Accra, Dublin, Istanbul, San José, and Shenzhen.

The list, sponsored by Perrier, is compiled from the votes of The 50 Best Bars Academy, a panel of more than 800 independent bartenders, drinks writers, educators, and industry specialists worldwide. Milan hosts the main event as the awards program returns to Europe for its 18th edition, with the countdown of the top 50 broadcast live at 20:00 Milan time on October 7, 2026 via The 50’s YouTube channel.

A Broader Map of the World’s Best Bars

The 13 new entries stretch across Accra, Athens, Bangkok, Dublin, Goa, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Melbourne, Mexico City, San José, Shenzhen, and Singapore. Six venues carry particular weight as the first-ever entries from their cities: Front/Back (No.80) and La Borracha (No.87) in Accra, Bar 1661 (No.98) in Dublin, Bar Gabriel (No.68) in Istanbul, Otro Bar (No.82) in San José, and MO Bar Shenzhen (No.60).

Faye Huggett, Director of Community for The 50 Best Bars, says the extended ranking has become a vital part of the program: “It celebrates the diversity, innovation and energy that define today’s global bar scene, shining a spotlight on establishments that consistently deliver outstanding drinks and world-class hospitality. From renowned industry favourites to rising stars pushing the boundaries of cocktail culture, the bars featured in this year’s ranking reflect the talent, passion and dedication that continue to elevate our industry.”

North America Rides on US and Mexican Strength

For the fourth consecutive year, the USA is the most represented country on the extended list, with five bars across three cities. New York reinforces its standing as one of the world’s leading cocktail capitals with Double Chicken Please at No.53, Superbueno at No.61, and Employees Only at No.78. They are joined by New Orleans’ Jewel of the South (No.64) and Chicago’s Kumiko (No.70).

Mexico lands three entries. Newcomer Form + Matter debuts at No.59 in Mexico City, joining long-standing favorite Licorería Limantour at No.63, while Arca in Tulum places at No.67. Central America marks a milestone as Otro Bar becomes the first bar in San José ever to make the ranking.

Italy Leads Europe’s 18-Bar Showing

Europe is the most represented region with 18 bars, led once again by Italy’s four entries. Rome is home to Freni e Frizioni (No.62) and Drink Kong (No.92), Florence’s Gucci Giardino ranks No.91, and Milan’s 1930 sits at No.94, giving the host city a presence on the extended list.

Spain and the United Kingdom follow with three bars apiece. Barcelona’s historic Boadas records one of the extended list’s biggest climbs, rising 33 places to No.52, alongside Foco at No.90, while Madrid’s Salmon Guru completes Spain’s showing at No.66. The UK is represented by London’s Three Sheets (Soho) at No.73 and Scarfes Bar at No.77, with Edinburgh’s Panda & Sons at No.72.

Elsewhere, Paris welcomes the return of Little Red Door at No.93, and Athens pairs new entry Naked (No.76) with Baba au Rum (No.55). In Scandinavia, Stockholm claims the highest position on the entire extended list with Tjoget at No.51, joined by Röda Huset at No.83, while Oslo’s Svanen ranks No.65.

Hong Kong Anchors Asia as Shenzhen Debuts

Asia features 16 bars and welcomes five new entries in 2026. Boilermaker in Goa arrives at No.57, MO Bar Shenzhen enters at No.60 as the city’s first-ever entry, and Hong Kong’s Mius (No.81), Bangkok’s G.O.D (No.85), and Singapore’s Offtrack (No.89) round out the newcomers.

Hong Kong remains the continent’s leading city with four bars: Mius is joined by Coa at No.54, returning entry Penicillin at No.69, and The Savory Project at No.96. Tokyo and Bangkok each secure three entries. Representing Tokyo are Bar Trench (No.74), The SG Club (No.88), and The Bellwood (No.100), while Bangkok’s G.O.D is joined by Opium at No.97 and Vesper at No.99. Elsewhere, Bar Cham in Seoul places at No.71, Vender in Taichung ranks No.79 after first featuring in 2025, and Hiriketiya’s Smoke & Bitters lands at No.86.

A Historic First for West Africa

This year’s ranking marks a significant milestone for West Africa, with Accra’s Front/Back and La Borracha becoming the first bars from the region ever to feature on the 51-100 list. Melbourne also returns via new opening Three Horses at No.84, and in the UAE, LPM Dubai ranks No.58.

The organization describes the annual ranking as widely regarded as a benchmark of excellence in the global drinks industry, and says the 51-100 list is intended to shine a light on an even greater number of bars, teams, and individuals whose creativity, innovation, and influence continue to shape cocktail culture worldwide. With debut cities on three continents, a spread across 34 cities, and voting independently adjudicated by Deloitte, this year’s extended list sets the stage for a genuinely global countdown. All eyes now turn to The 50 Best Bars ceremony in Milan on October 7, where the top 50 for 2026 will be revealed live.
