English bartenders Tom Godfrey and Theo Quinn entered the World's 50 Best at No. 89 as a new entry with a Gràcia bar built on a simple premise: updated classics, no pretension, and drinks that reward attention without demanding it. The Negroni—built with Tanqueray, extra virgin olive oil, orange vermouth, and coriander and mustard seeds—illustrates the approach: familiar architecture, unfamiliar detail. Godfrey describes Foco as a modern interpretation of what a classic bar should be. The judges agree.
