On July 15, the 10th edition of Asia’s 50 Best Bars took place in Macau—and once again, Hong Kong’s Bar Leone claimed the top spot. Dedicated to Italian bar culture, Bar Leone secured its No. 1 position for the second year in a row, a remarkable achievement for a bar that debuted at the top in 2024.
The ceremony, held at the lavish Wynn Palace, brought together some of Asia’s most talented bartenders to celebrate creativity, innovation, and hospitality across the continent.
This year saw major shifts in the top five. Two previous powerhouses—Coa (Hong Kong) and Bar Benfiddich (Tokyo)—dropped out of the top tier. Replacing them were Bangkok’s rising stars: Bar Us at No. 4 and Dry Wave Cocktail Studioat No. 5. Seoul’s Zest maintained its stronghold at No. 2, while Singapore’s Jigger & Pony ranked third, remaining the city-state’s top bar for the seventh consecutive year.
The 2025 list welcomed 20 new entries, a record showing the diversity and momentum of Asia’s bar scene. Notable newcomers include St. Regis Bar (Jakarta, No. 22), G.O.D. (Bangkok, No. 26), and To Infinity and Beyond (Taipei, No. 41). At the same time, a few icons celebrated 10 straight years on the list—like Jigger & Pony, Bar Benfiddich, Vesper (Bangkok), and Seoul favorites Le Chamber and Alice Cheongdam.
Bangkok emerged as the city with the most bars in the top 50—seven in total—overtaking Singapore, which now boasts five. Bar Us also received the award for Best Bar in Thailand. One of the biggest stories was the dramatic rise of Dry Wave Cocktail Studio, which shot into the top five after winning the Campari One to Watch Award in 2024. This year, it also picked up the Disaronno Highest New Entry Award.
Hong Kong continues to be a bar powerhouse, landing six spots on the list, including Argo (No. 11) and Coa (No. 17). Japan also claimed six placements. India made a strong showing with five bars, including four first-timers—most notably Lair (New Delhi, No. 8). Taiwan gained international attention with four bars, including Moonrock (Tainan, No. 42), the first from that city to ever make the list.
Indonesia, Malaysia, and Seoul each had four bars in the top 50, proving that Asia’s bar culture is more diverse, competitive, and exciting than ever.
