The garden bar of Hotel de Russie takes its name from Igor Stravinsky's 1917 Roman visit, Cocteau called the hotel 'paradise on Earth' while staying with Stravinsky and Picasso. Bar manager Mattia Capezzuoli leads the team under Maestro Salvatore Calabrese, with cocktails drawn from the hotel's Secret Garden and food envisioned by chef Fulvio Pierangelini. Smart casual, the sportswear stays at home.

Bar della Musa
Bar della Musa is the bar of Palazzo Talìa, a hotel in a sixteenth-century palazzo by Largo del Nazareno whose public rooms were designed by film director Luca Guadagnino. The bar has a multicoloured marble counter, bent-wood rattan chairs, smoked mirror panels and a painted ceiling of grotesques, and from Thursday to Saturday it runs an oyster happy hour at aperitivo time.

Bar Locarno
Bar Locarno is the bar of Hotel Locarno, the 1925 hotel a few steps from Piazza del Popolo, with a carved wooden counter, an art nouveau sitting room with a fireplace and a wisteria-shaded courtyard used in the warmer months. It has drawn the film world since Fellini's day, and serves Italian aperitivo classics such as Negronis and Martinis alongside its own cocktails. The bar is open daily from early morning to 1am.

Etere Rooftop
Etere is the rooftop bar of Palazzo Ripetta, a hotel in a seventeenth-century former convent between Piazza del Popolo and Piazza di Spagna. Bar manager Christian Comparone, who oversees all of the hotel's bars, writes a short contemporary list built on aromatics, seasonality and some fermentation, served above the rooftops of the centro storico.

The bar of boutique hotel Chapter Roma runs from daytime coffee and juices to evening mixology among velvet sofas and a communal table. The 2025 list is cinema-themed, 'where taste becomes a story and the bar an auteur's set', with serves like the popcorn-bourbon Hollywood Babylon (€15). The hotel's seasonal Hey Güey rooftop is the summer sibling.
