The Bamboo Bar

From its modest start in 1947, The Bamboo Bar has grown into a Bangkok institution, the city's first jazz venue, still wrapped in its sensual 1950s ambience at the Mandarin Oriental. Live jazz plays nightly with band and vocalist, and the current 'Evolution' menu draws on the natural progression of bamboo and local Thai ingredients. Elegant attire after 6:30pm; no reservations, a sought-after walk-in. It received the Timeless International Award at the 2026 Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards.

A speakeasy-style cocktail lounge on the 11th floor of the MUU Bangkok Hotel on Thong Lo. The room is fitted out with a timber bar counter, tan leather seating, retro armchairs and a library corner. The drinks list centers on reworked classics and signatures built around a 1920s Prohibition theme.

Thaipioka

A cocktail bar on the ground floor of The Salil Hotel on Thonglor Soi 1, entered through an unmarked door. The dimly lit room is arranged around a long wooden bar with planting and low seating. Bartender Chanchai Rodbamrung builds the list around local seasonal fruit and unusual ingredients.

The Speakeasy Rooftop Bar Bangkok

A 1920s Prohibition-styled rooftop across floors 24-25 of Hotel Muse Bangkok Langsuan, its design and drinks inspired by King Rama V's European travel logs. The 24th floor carries a retractable roof; the 25th is open-air with private Secret Domes, a Secret Garden and The Blind Pig cigar lounge. Live DJs Thursday to Saturday, no cover. Smart casual.
