From its modest start in 1947, The Bamboo Bar has grown into a Bangkok institution, the city's first jazz venue, still wrapped in its sensual 1950s ambience at the Mandarin Oriental. Live jazz plays nightly with band and vocalist, and the current 'Evolution' menu draws on the natural progression of bamboo and local Thai ingredients. The Loft
The Loft sits on level 56 of Waldorf Astoria Bangkok and is styled as a glamorous vintage New York artist's studio. Art deco meets art nouveau around a bronze spiral staircase, with paint-splashed communal wooden tables and a floor-to-ceiling glass wall over the skyline. The cocktails draw on historic recipes from the Old Waldorf Bar in New York and The Waldorf Astoria Bar Book, reworked with house-made ingredients: the Waldorf pairs Michter's bourbon with Thai basil and chocolate bitters, and the Illusion adds homemade pandan soda. Bar bites are served, and tables are booked through SevenRooms. Forbes Travel Guide named it a Star Bar for 2025. It was No. 88 on the Asia's 50 Best Bars 51-100 list in 2022.
