Temple Bar

New York

Temple Bar opened on Lafayette Street in NoHo in 1989, closed in 2017 after 28 years and reopened in late 2021 under David Rabin, Sam Ross and Michael McIlroy of Attaboy, and Maneesh Goyal of Passerine. The old hardwood Art Deco room stays very dark, with complimentary popcorn on the tables. The list runs long on martinis, with a caviar bump to add, and on modern classics such as Ross's own Penicillin and a Blue Negroni. A dress code is enforced at the door, laptops are not allowed at the bar or in the lounge, and flash photography is limited. It opens nightly at 5pm and stays open until 2am Thursday through Saturday.
