Bateman's is the first cocktail bar from husband-and-wife Carlo Olcese and Natasha Van Duser, on East 6th Street in the East Village, and they pitch it as an approachable Dorsia, the restaurant from American Psycho. A 10-seat bar sits under original 1920s Tiffany chandeliers over a marble top, with a 20-seat dining area beside it. The ice is clarified in house and stamped with brass stamps, local artist Deanne Proske illustrates the cocktails, and the dirty martini runs on a secret brine.
