Abstract calls itself a full time distillery and a part time bistrot, working out of a room on Rue Duroc in Lyon's first arrondissement. The house makes its own spirits under the name Monochromes: single ingredient bottlings drawn through a bespoke extraction process built to preserve each ingredient's aromatic integrity. Releases carry plain names such as Cucumber, Yellow Bell Pepper, Lemon, Raspberry, Strawberry and Butter, they arrive in small batches with handcrafted bottles, and they form the backbone of what the bar pours. The team behind it includes Remy Savage, Nicolas Minisini, Sara Moudoulaud, Hadrien Moudoulaud, Ismaïl Hamila and Faustine Simorre, gathered, in the house's words, around flavor. Doors open only from Friday through Sunday evenings.

Sauvage is a cocktail bar in Lyon's 7th arrondissement, imagined as a place of adventure and exploration that returns to the origins of taste. The menu leans on aperitif styles, with house cocktails built on gentian, vermouth, Lillet and fruit liqueurs, plus tapas and sharing boards. The room has bare stone walls, a long bar with stools and a mezzanine under woven pendant lamps.
Baràgones styles itself a society bar, cocktails and more: a cocktail and premium spirits bar on Place Saint-Paul in Vieux Lyon with what it calls a South American and Caribbean atmosphere, a programme of themed nights such as its Día de los Muertos weekend, cocktail workshops and private hire. Open Tuesday to Saturday from five.
Contrast stands at 32 Rue Palais Grillet in the Presqu'île district of Lyon. The bar describes demanding mixology and a refined card of house cocktails that play with textures, aromas and contrasts, served alongside tapas and craft beers. Named drinks include Cerisaõ, built on gin, cacao liqueur, cherry cordial, lemon and egg white, plus Poir(é) Spritz with elderflower, pear and sparkling wine, a Weekly Negroni served with Nocellara olives, the frozen rum based Coco Cabana and Totally Spice with tequila, pineapple cordial and chili. Musical programming runs from jazz to electronic. Hours are Monday to Wednesday 5pm to 11:30pm, Thursday and Friday to 1am, and Saturday 3pm to 1am.
L'Antiquaire has been pouring classic cocktails in Lyon since 2010, from Rue Hippolyte Flandrin in the first arrondissement, a short walk from Place des Terreaux. The room looks to American bars of the 1950s and 1960s: leather banquettes, candles, low light and alcoves that let a table sit half apart from the rest. Jazz and blues play under the conversation, and a heated terrace extends the space outside. Bartenders work both the classic canon and their own creations, with boards to share alongside. The house also calls itself a bar restaurant and can take groups of up to eighty. On Friday and Saturday the license runs to three in the morning.
L'Artchimiste has been a neighbourhood cocktail bistro in Lyon's 6th arrondissement since 2017. The cocktail list keeps changing with travel and seasonal produce, built on syrups, infusions and macerations made on site, and comes with sharing plates. Wood, stone, raw materials and lush greenery give the room an industrial yet warm feel.
