The Best Bar in Indonesia 2026 — No.11 on Asia's 50 Best — Modernhaus opened in May 2024 above French restaurant Bouchon on Senopati, founded by Mirwansyah 'Bule' of The Union Group. The room is a mid-century 'stylish living room': communal central table, sofa seating, no barrier between bartenders and guests. The name crosses mid-century modern with the Indonesian 'haus' — thirst — and the zero-waste menu organises itself by plant anatomy: roots, fruits, leaves, flowers.
