Descend through an alley entrance into the basement boiler room of a former hotel, and you arrive at Seattle's most enduring speakeasy — a candlelit, stone-walled room that has been pouring Prohibition-era cocktails and an international gin menu since 2011. Bathtub Gin at 2205 2nd Avenue does not take reservations, does not seat large parties, and does not apologise for its constraints — the limited capacity is part of the charm. The cocktail programme is rooted in classic gin builds but branches into seasonal originals and a rotating selection of house-infused gins.
