Scarfes Bar will mark International Women’s Month with a dedicated afternoon of talks and networking on Tuesday, March 10, bringing together influential women from across the global hospitality industry. Hosted in collaboration with Celebrate Her, the event will be led by Assistant Bar Manager Nóra Földvári and focuses on how cultural context, social norms, and regional realities shape professional journeys behind the bar .
Running from 1pm to 3pm, the programme centers on a roundtable discussion exploring the lived experiences of women working in regions with very different expectations around gender and leadership. Speakers will address topics ranging from navigating resistance in less receptive environments to practical strategies for cross-cultural collaboration and long-term career resilience. Audience participation is built into the format through a “You Asked” segment driven by social media questions and a “Dress to Express” initiative celebrating personal heritage .
The panel brings together a diverse group of voices including Priyanka Blah, founder of The Dram Attic and Director of Education at Bar Convent Berlin; Amanda Wan of Kuala Lumpur’s Three X Co; Kelly Villarreal from Tonic Bar at Four Seasons Riyadh; Philippa Wall from the Young Women’s Hub; Raissa de Haas, co-founder of Double Dutch; and Kaitlin Wilkes, co-founder of The Ada Coleman Project. Together, they represent a broad spectrum of markets, cultures, and career paths within hospitality .
“Over recent years, we’ve built a strong, supportive community committed to empowering one another and creating safer, more joyful spaces within hospitality,” says Nóra Földvári, highlighting initiatives such as Celebrate Her and The Ada Coleman Project as proof of what collective action can achieve, while acknowledging that there is still more work to do.
Following the talks, guests will be invited to a networking reception in the Rosewood London courtyard from 3pm to 5pm, hosted in partnership with Tanqueray. The day concludes with a special bar takeover from 5pm onwards, led by Amanda Wan of Three X Co, currently ranked No.15 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025 list, bringing a taste of Kuala Lumpur’s contemporary cocktail scene to London .
