Upstairs is the rooftop bar and restaurant in the penthouse of The Kimberly Hotel on East 50th Street, between Lexington and Third Avenues in Midtown, open since 2008. A fully retractable glass roof turns the main room from an open-air rooftop into a candlelit cocktail lounge, with floor-to-ceiling windows facing the Chrysler Building. The terrace adds a fireplace and living green walls and is used year-round. Cocktails are by Mateo Ríos, and the weekday Golden Hour from 4pm to 6:30pm lists specialty drinks such as the Watson with Hendrick's gin and cucumber and the Midtown with tequila, mezcal and a hibiscus-salt rim. Guests must be 21 or over after 4pm.
