Tartan House is a cozy neighborhood cocktail and whiskey lounge on East Main Street in Butchertown, and the invitation is simply to come as you are. The bar specializes in both classic and house cocktails, mixed with care rather than ceremony, and behind them sits a carefully curated whiskey and spirits library for anyone who would rather take a wee dram of a favorite bottle neat. Doors open at four in the afternoon every day of the week, running to midnight from Sunday through Thursday and to two in the morning on Friday and Saturday, which makes it an easy first stop or a long last one.
