Bar Américain is the art deco cocktail bar in the basement of the Zédel complex on Sherwood Street, below Piccadilly Circus, alongside Brasserie Zédel and the Crazy Coqs cabaret room. The low-lit room has changed little since it opened, and the list draws on drinks from before, during and after Prohibition. The current menu takes its themes from transatlantic letters and 1920s Paris, and a few tables can be booked while the rest are kept for walk-ins.
