Amsterdam Cocktail Week returns from 27 March to 5 April, transforming the Dutch capital into a city-wide cocktail festival for its ninth edition. Across ten days, 23 of Amsterdam’s leading cocktail bars will serve 46 exclusive signature drinks — one alcoholic and one non-alcoholic per venue — alongside a packed calendar of workshops, tastings, international guest shifts, and guided cocktail walks.

Now firmly established as one of Europe’s key cocktail events, this year’s edition is the largest to date. The festival has expanded both its bar roster and its events program, welcoming guest bartenders from Barcelona, Rome, Hamburg, Berlin, and London while offering industry professionals and cocktail enthusiasts alike a reason to explore every corner of Amsterdam’s bar scene.

The 23 Participating Bars

This year’s lineup brings together a cross-section of Amsterdam’s cocktail culture, from historic hotel bars to contemporary speakeasies. The participating venues are: Bar Oldenhof, Bar TwentySeven, Belly of the Beast, CUE, Door74, Dutch Courage, Feijoa, Fitz’s Bar, Flying Dutchmen Cocktails, Hasta La Vista Baby!, Law & Order, Lotti’s, LuminAir, NIDO, NJOY, Pressroom, Prins & Aap, Rosalia’s Menagerie, Sins of Sal, Sonora, Super Lyan, The Tailor, and Vault Bar.

Each bar has developed two exclusive signature cocktails that reflect its individual identity and style. The dual-format approach — one spirit-based, one alcohol-free — continues the festival’s commitment to offering high-quality options for all guests.

International Guest Shifts

A highlight of this year’s program is a series of international bar takeovers scheduled across several evenings. On 1 April, four acclaimed venues take over Amsterdam bars simultaneously. Paradiso from Barcelona steps behind the bar at Door74. Drink Kong from Rome takes over Fitz’s Bar. And Murder Inc. from London makes NIDO their temporary home.

That same evening, Mijenta welcomes two renowned German bartenders to Amsterdam to mark the closing of Mijenta Women’s Month. Betty Kupsa from The Chug Club (Hamburg) and Maria Gorbachova from The Green Door (Berlin) are taking over Belly of the Beast and Flying Dutchmen Cocktails for a one-night-only collaboration.

Earlier in the week, Grazia di Franco opens the guest shift series at Law & Order on 26 March, while Andrew Nicholls and Andrei Talapanescu bring their Double Dre Guestshift to Lotti’s at The Hoxton on 27 March.

Workshops, Tastings & Competitions

Education and hands-on experiences are central to this year’s Amsterdam Cocktail Week. At Door74, Amsterdam’s most celebrated speakeasy, the Exclusive Martini Workshop (29 March – 2 April) explores the craft behind one of the cocktail world’s most iconic drinks — shaken or stirred, and why it matters.

Bartenders will battle for the title of Best Espresso Martini of the Netherlands at a competition hosted at Hasta La Vista, Baby! on 30 March. Meanwhile, Bar Oldenhof offers an Agave Masterclass on 3 April, and NJOY Cocktailbar hosts a Neo Classic Cocktails Workshop on 2 April. Dutch Courage rounds out the program with a Misaki Sake tasting with Yadi Villanueva (2 April) and The Mega Aperitivo Extravaganza (4 April).

Passion fruit lovers can join the Rooftop Passion Fruit Pub Crawl on 29 March, a collaboration between Sonora and Hasta La Vista, Baby! that goes far beyond the Pornstar Martini to explore what passion fruit has to offer in unexpected ways.

The Knowledge Hub

On 31 March, The Tailor at Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky hosts the Amsterdam Cocktail Week Knowledge Hub — a series of short talks by experts from across the bar industry. Sessions cover the practical knowledge needed to run a successful bar, making it a must-attend for hospitality professionals looking to sharpen their edge.

WOGO Cocktail Walks

For those looking to experience multiple bars in a single outing, the WOGO Cocktail Walk offers two curated walking routes through the city. The “Discovery” walk visits Bar Oldenhof, Law & Order, and Dutch Courage, while the “Luxury” walk takes guests to Fitz’s Bar, CUE, and Prins & Aap. Both routes are available throughout the festival and can be booked via the WOGO website.

From Kick-Off to Afterparty

Amsterdam Cocktail Week officially kicks off on 25 March with Sip, Swap, Shake! at NIDO Cocktailbar, setting the tone for ten days of cocktail culture. The festival formally closes on 5 April with Eitje Tik at Dutch Courage — but for those not ready to call it a night, the celebration continues on 6 April at the official afterparty: Girl’s Love Bartenders at Feijoa.

The full program and bar details are available at amsterdamcocktailweek.nl. Reservations at participating bars can be made directly through their individual websites.
