Singapore’s Jigger & Pony creative director Uno Jang has been named Altos Bartenders’ Bartender 2025, voted by peers from The World’s 50 Best Bars.
Uno Jang, creative director and partner at Jigger & Pony Group in Singapore, has been awarded the Altos Bartenders’ Bartender Award 2025 as part of The World’s 50 Best Bars, sponsored by Perrier. Voted for exclusively by bartenders from this year’s list, the award recognizes an industry leader who embodies innovation, mentorship, and hospitality-first service.
Born in South Korea, Jang moved to Singapore in 2015 and began bartending at Orgo Bar before joining Jigger & Pony in 2017. Under the mentorship of co-founder Indra Kantono, Jang has evolved into a creative director and partner, shaping the bar’s identity and helping it rise to global prominence. His work has been central to Jigger & Pony’s celebrated “menu-zine” concept, blending editorial storytelling with innovative cocktails that fuse Asian flavors and philosophies with classic techniques.
Known for using unusual ingredients such as heirloom beefsteak tomatoes, kümmel, Liberica coffee, and beetroot, Jang creates cocktails that are visually stunning, conceptually rich, and technically refined. Beyond his drinks, he is widely admired for his mentorship and leadership, fostering a culture of collaboration and long-term vision within his teams.
Jigger & Pony has been a fixture on The World’s 50 Best Bars list since 2019, reaching No.1 in Asia in 2020 and No.5 globally in 2024.
On receiving the award, Jang said: “To be recognised by fellow bartenders around the world is such an honour. This award belongs just as much to my team at Jigger & Pony, and to the wider community that has supported and inspired me. When I moved to Singapore ten years ago to begin my bartending career, I gave myself the name Uno. To be recognised today, by my peers around the world, as Uno feels like a dream fulfilled.”
The award highlights Jang’s role as a driving force in Asia’s cocktail culture and adds his name to a list of industry icons including Monica Berg, Tato Giovannoni, Lynnette Marrero, and GN Chan.
The World’s 50 Best Bars 2025 will be revealed live on 8 October 2025 in Hong Kong and streamed globally on the 50 Best TV YouTube channel.
