SanYou is a cocktail bar in Foreign Business Xintiandi, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou, from the team behind Hope & Sesame. The bar showcases local cocktails built around baijiu, the best-selling white spirit in the world, with more than 30,000 brands on the Chinese market and, in SanYou's view, a whole new chapter still to be written in modern cocktail culture. Alongside baijiu, the back bar draws on the growing range of whisky, gin, amaro and other spirits now made across China, and everything poured is sourced within the country. The result is a drinks list that reads as a survey of Chinese distilling, mixed for a modern room.
