Gage & Tollner first opened on Fulton Street in 1879 and closed in 2004, then reopened in 2021 under Sohui Kim, Ben Schneider and St. John Frizell in a dining room that holds both exterior and interior landmark status, the only standalone restaurant in New York to carry both. The cocktail list opens with classics that appeared on the house menus of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, martinis, sours, smashes and cobblers, and adds a rotating bartender's suggestion.
