The 2025 Cointreau Margarita Challenge is now open, inviting bartenders from around the globe to showcase their mixology skills and creativity. This year’s competition emphasizes sustainability, challenging participants to craft innovative Margaritas that utilize every part of a fruit—from flesh to peel to leaves—while incorporating at least 25 ml of Cointreau L’Unique and salt.

Since its inception, the Cointreau Margarita Challenge has become a global sensation, attracting passionate bartenders worldwide. Designed by bartenders for bartenders, the competition goes beyond crafting delicious cocktails; it’s about pushing creative limits, showcasing talent, and fostering a community of mixology enthusiasts.
Expanded Opportunities for Finalists
Recognizing the surge in talented participants, the 2025 challenge has expanded the global final to 12 seats. Ten regional competitions will determine the first 10 finalists. Additionally, one exceptional newcomer will earn the coveted Rookie spot, and a Wild Card finalist, selected by an esteemed jury, will complete the lineup.
Prestigious Jury and Grand Prize
Finalists will present their creations to a distinguished panel of internationally renowned bartenders and industry experts. The grand prize winner will receive a €5,000 voucher for a guest shift anywhere in the world and an exclusive trip for two to France, including visits to the Cointreau distillery and iconic cocktail bars.
How to Participate
Bartenders interested in participating can submit their unique Margarita recipes through the official Cointreau Margarita Challenge website. The submission period is open from October 2024 through the end of March 2025. Finalists will be selected in early April 2025, with the grand finale taking place in Angers, France, in May 2025.
