A new generation of Stockholm bartenders puts Swedish ingredients first. The best cocktail bars in Stockholm include Röda Huset by Sergels Torg, whose menu is drawn as a map of where each ingredient comes from, No. 43 in the 2026 edition of Europe's 50 Best Bars, and Tjoget in Hornstull, open since 2012 and No. 37 on that list. Lucy's Flower Shop is a basement bar entered through an empty florist, and The Cadier Bar at the Grand Hôtel looks across the water to the Royal Palace. Lucy's Flower Shop
Lucy's Flower Shop opened in November 2019 in a basement on Birger Jarlsgatan in Östermalm, and the way in is through a florist with nobody behind the counter. Ola Carlson and Alex Skärlén built it as a 1960s-inspired room in shades of purple with 38 seats. The signature cocktails are named after their ingredients, such as Rye & Apple, and many come in low-alcohol or alcohol-free versions. It placed No. 35 on The World's 50 Best Bars in 2021 and No. 49 in 2022, and won Best Cocktail Bar in Sweden at the Bartenders' Choice Awards in 2022 and 2023. Some seats are always kept for walk-ins.

Bar Othilia is the cocktail bar of Operakällaren on Karl XII:s torg, across the water from the Royal Palace, pouring cocktails alongside wines from the Nobis cellar. It opened with bartender Johan Evers leading the drinks and won Best New Cocktail Bar for Sweden at the 2026 Bartenders' Choice Awards. A few tables can be booked for cocktails and walk-ins are welcome, Wednesday to Saturday from 5pm.

Afterglow is a neighborhood cocktail bar on Erstagatan in Södermalm run by bartenders Josephine Sondlo and Jack Parker, with an original cocktail list in a homely room where dogs are welcome. It won Best New Cocktail Bar for Sweden at the 2025 Bartenders' Choice Awards and was nominated for Best Cocktail Bar and Best Cocktail Menu in 2026. It has no website; hours and news go out on Instagram.

Le Hibou is a cocktail and terrace bar on the top floor of Bank Hotel in Stockholm, designed to evoke an exclusive Parisian suite with a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere. The bar serves specially composed cocktails alongside a large selection of non-alcoholic drinks and operates on a drop-in basis, with parties of ten or more asked to contact the bar in advance. The venue is cash-free, accepting bank cards only. It won Best Cocktail Bar for Sweden at the 2026 Bartenders' Choice Awards.

Stjärtilleriet calls itself Östermalm's most unserious cocktail bar, with a stated philosophy that not taking themselves seriously is what they take most seriously. The bar positions its drinks as a 'taste-wise lawless zone' where every component fights to be front and center in the flavor profile. It also offers a Cocktail Omakase experience and is run alongside Restaurang Artilleriet on the same street. It won Best Cocktail Menu for Sweden at the 2026 Bartenders' Choice Awards.

Vänster at Häktet
A speakeasy-style cocktail bar operating inside the Häktet restaurant on Hornsgatan, entered by ringing a doorbell. It keeps late hours Wednesday through Saturday and is presented as a relaxed late-night counterpart to the adjoining bistro. Häktet occupies an 18th-century building that also houses a dining room, a kitchen bar and private rooms. At the Bartenders' Choice Awards it won Best Atmosphere for Sweden in 2019.

Black Milk Gastro Bar is an omakase-style counter on Birger Jarlsgatan, entered through its sister restaurant Leche Negra, where no menu is published and a run of small dishes is paired with cocktails rather than wine. The cooking draws on South America, Asia and Europe. It won Best New Cocktail Bar for Sweden at the 2024 Bartenders' Choice Awards and is listed in the Michelin Guide; seats are by booking only.

Coquetel Social is a small classic-cocktail bar at Stureplan, run by Stureplansgruppen with the team behind Calle P, and it stays open until 3am every night. The room is built around high seats at the bar and works as an after-work stop, an after-dinner drink or a first stop on a night out, with snacks and mid-sized plates served late. It won Best Atmosphere for Sweden at the Bartenders' Choice Awards in 2022 and 2023 and has been nominated in that category every year since.

Gondolen is a restaurant and bar on the twelfth floor of Katarinahuset at Slussen, by the top of the Katarinahissen lift, with views across Stockholm. Its cocktail bar sits in the middle of the room with a jazz band most evenings and serves four versions of the Dry Martini; the house Dry Martini won Best Signature Cocktail for Sweden at the 2025 Bartenders' Choice Awards. Upstairs, Bar Zeppelin has walls painted by the artist Marie-Louise Ekman and stays open until 2am at weekends.
