Lecce's cocktail bars come in every size, and each one keeps to a style of its own. The best cocktail bars in Lecce range from a 37-square-meter room in the middle of the historic center, opened in 2013 and billed by its founders as the city's first true street cocktail bar, to a thousand-square-meter house where a Hopper painting hangs among elegant furniture and vertical gardens. Another keeps to speakeasy style and calls its team mixology artists. The street bar opens every day from 5pm to 2am, and its kitchen cooks until midnight. These are the bars we would start with.
300Mila, on Via 47° Reggimento Fanteria, has been part of Lecce since 2006, and it refuses a single label: it is a café, pastry shop, restaurant and cocktail bar in one, with a shop and a workshop besides. Mornings bring coffee, its tartlets are billed as the sweetest part of the day, and evenings are about lights, detail and elegance. The space runs to a thousand square meters, with elegant furnishings, a Hopper painting as backdrop, vertical gardens and glittering cases holding thousands of wines, sparkling wines and spirits, from gin and rum to whisky, cognac and vodka, alongside a collection of cocktail shakers. Sustainable, inclusive and visionary has always been the philosophy of its patron, Davide De Matteis.
Diego Melorio and Andrea Carlucci opened Quanto Basta in 2013 in the middle of Lecce's historic center, at Via G. Paladini 17 on the corner of Via M. Basseo. The room measures only 37 square meters, so the bar's street-style energy spills well past its walls. The signatures swing between bright and savory: Pinky pairs Altos tequila with banana-peel syrup and grapefruit bitters, Complex mixes Bombay Sapphire with tomato water, lemon carrot and black-garlic syrup, and Nori Swing brings Leblon cachaça together with mandarin liqueur, lime cordial and nori. The team was named among Europe's top 10 for Best International Bar Team at the 2023 Spirited Awards. It opens daily from 5 pm to 2 am, with the kitchen serving until midnight.
Saloon Keeper 1933 is a speakeasy-style cocktail bar on Piazzetta Chiesa Greca in Lecce, and it pitches itself less as a bar than as a doorway in time, with a cat as its guide and Follow the Cat as its motto. Its drinks have been pitched as trips to other times: absinthe for those who dream of the Belle Époque, popcorn and brandy for film lovers, and banana and spice for anyone whose heart is in the Caribbean. Fridays belong to music. The 2026 season opened in March with jazz on piano and voice, and it ran into summer with a night of New Orleans jazz from the 1950s and 1960s, sets of voice and guitar, and a lounge trio.
