The Skip

The Skip is an open-air cocktail bar in The Belt, the art filled alley in downtown Detroit, and it has been there since 2016. The bar keeps things tropical and easygoing, with frozen drinks, tropical cocktails and craft beer poured a five minute walk from Comerica Park and Ford Field, which makes it a natural stop before a game. Murals and installations wrap the alley, so the surrounding city does much of the decorating. Seasonal programming is part of the appeal: pina coladas run half off when it rains, and the bar stages its Black Lagoon takeover from the first of October. Grub is served alongside the drinks.
