The Fountain Inn revives a Georgetown tavern first established in 1783 as a rare spirits tasting room, cocktail bar and restaurant on Wisconsin Avenue. Its spirits library of more than 650 bottles leans on American whiskey, and the cocktail list draws on historical recipes. Most nights the bar runs a guided Historic Cocktail Tour through American drinks from punch bowls to Prohibition, and the upstairs room is kept for private events.
