McClellan's Retreat is a dim cocktail bar on Florida Avenue NW, named after the Civil War general George B. McClellan. It runs themed seasonal cocktail menus alongside barrel-aged drinks, its own single barrel selections and a long whiskey and spirits list, with snacks and provisions to go with them. Happy hour runs from 4pm to 6pm on weekdays, and bar manager Brian Nixon was voted best bartender in Washington City Paper's Best of DC.
