MotorCity Wine is a wine shop and wine bar on Michigan Avenue in Corktown, and it happily answers to both. The selection is described as rather large but not overwhelming, drawn from all over the world and changing weekly, so regulars are encouraged to come in often. Bottles are priced at retail and can be opened on site for a small corkage fee of ten dollars, which the shop offers as its alternative to a heavy bar markup. Music is the other half of the identity: the current lineup brings resident DJs and a food pop-up on Mondays, the Detroit Tango Project on Wednesdays and Tropicalia on Thursdays, with more on the calendar.
