Hup San Social Club is a twelve-seat cocktail bar in the basement of a Club Street shophouse, entered through the bistro Club Street Laundry. It is run by bartender June Baek, who worked at Madame Fan and MO Bar before stints in South Korea and Vietnam, and the drinks draw on her Korean heritage, among them a take on oi-naengguk, the chilled cucumber soup, made with soju, kelp dashi, sesame and apple vinegar. The name, which means harmony and life, recalls the clan and social clubs that once met in the street's shophouses, and walk-ins are kept alongside a few reservation slots.
