Naples, Italy
Archivio Storico, on Via Alessandro Scarlatti in Vomero, is a tribute to the Naples of the Bourbon kings, and you enter it through a painting. A canvas three meters tall showing Charles of Bourbon's victory at Gaeta slides aside to reveal five rooms, each dedicated to one of the five Bourbon kings of the Two Sicilies and his queen, beneath ceiling paintings that tell the dynasty's story in the city. A large display case holds the spirits and liqueurs as in a library. The drinks have followed the theme, with five Martinis for the five kings and cocktails inspired by the pastry of the Monzù, the chefs of the noble houses, whose cooking also shapes the menu.
