Aperture takes its name from the diaphragm opening that lets light into a camera, and light is the organizing idea of the room. Open since 2018 on Rue des Trésoriers de la Bourse in central Montpellier, it presents itself as a cocktail club rather than a conventional bar, an inhabited gallery where drinks are conceived as compositions and exhibitions run with the rhythm of the place. Volumes, materials, darkness and reflection are handled deliberately, with light used to reveal, to cut and to tell a story. The house describes itself as a meeting point between taste, image and sound. Wine and snacks sit alongside the cocktail list, and the evening runs late.
