The name comes from the Taiwanese Hokkien phrase hán-tsia̍h, carrying the sense both of something rare and precious to eat and of eating and drinking with abandon. The room on Ximen Road is high-ceilinged and unusually well lit for a serious cocktail bar, combining exposed brick with velvet banquettes and chandeliers, with private rooms around round marble tables. Whisky is the core of the list, shelved along the walls and served neat or worked into cocktails.
