The poolside bar at the Freehand Hotel earned two James Beard nominations and a Best American Hotel Bar award from Tales of the Cocktail by treating its garden as a cocktail ingredient. House-made elixirs, syrups, and infusions drawn from herbs grown steps from the bar top produce drinks with a freshness that imported ingredients cannot replicate. The tropical courtyard, disco ball, mismatched furniture, sparkling pool, sets a tone that dozens of Miami bars have attempted to copy. None have matched the original's combination of craft and chaos.
