The Polo Lounge is the restaurant and bar of The Beverly Hills Hotel on Sunset Boulevard in Beverly Hills, a room once described as Hollywood's commissary with a history the hotel calls as fabled as Tinseltown itself. A candy-striped ceiling, comfortable booths and a pianist set the mood, and a sunny patio surrounded by palm trees hosts a Sunday jazz brunch. The kitchen serves American cuisine with an Italian edge, including the famed McCarthy salad, and the bar team will build a drink from its own repertoire for guests who would rather not choose. Director Pepe de Anda describes the atmosphere as magical, with a special energy. A dress code applies.
