Behind a red velvet curtain in El Poblado, Mala Audio Bar has put music at the center of Medellín's nightlife since opening in 2024. The listening bar was designed by architect Camilo Ramírez around a custom high-fidelity sound system with Danley Sound Labs speakers and a layout inspired by a recording studio, with shelves of vinyl and a DJ booth that has welcomed leading names on the local scene, curated by Mala's partner and music curator Manolo. The mid-century interior leans on warm wood and analog detail, and the growing complex now includes the daytime café El Garaje de Mala. Beverage Director Joshua Guerrero leads a cocktail program built on Colombian ingredients such as lulo, uchuva, cacao, and corozo, with each drink named after a song, from Jolene to Bad Girls. In 2026 Mala joined 50 Best Discovery, the recommendation platform compiled by the voting Academy behind the World's 50 Best Bars.
