Osaka, Japan
Bible Club Osaka is a basement cocktail bar on Shinsaibashisuji that sets out to recreate a pre-Prohibition American room down to the detail, from the antique crystal drinkware to the fittings, so that a guest stepping in is meant to land somewhere between the 1800s and the turn of the century. The bar builds its cocktails from the freshest ingredients and the finest spirits it can get, and garnishes them to the same standard. It seats thirty eight, charges eight hundred yen a head, and takes its last order at half past midnight. It is the sister bar of the Bible Club in Portland, Oregon, the Prohibition-era room that gave it its name and which this directory also lists.
