Bar Cecil, named for the photographer Cecil Beaton, opened in 2021 in Plaza del Sol on South Palm Canyon Drive. It comes from Richard Crisman and Jeff Brock, the owners of Sparrows Lodge and Holiday House, with lead partner John Janulis of Portland's Lightning Bar Collective and chef Gabriel Woo. The 75-seat room keeps 12 bar seats for walk-ins, and the drinks lean classic, with several martini variations and specialty cocktails such as the Garden of the Gods. Tables open on OpenTable 14 days ahead, and Time Out called it the hardest reservation in Palm Springs. It opens nightly at 5pm. Restaurant Bar.
