With just two weeks until the highly anticipated unveiling of The World’s 50 Best Bars 2024, the extended list of bars ranked 51-100 has been announced. This list, sponsored by Perrier, includes a diverse range of standout cocktail destinations from around the globe, showcasing the best of mixology and hospitality. The 2024 edition features 12 new entries from cities including Copenhagen, Dubai, Hong Kong, London, Madrid, Singapore, and Toronto.
This is the eighth year that the 51-100 list has been released, highlighting bars that have demonstrated excellence and innovation in the industry. The ranking is determined by a panel of over 700 independent drinks experts, celebrated bartenders, and influential industry professionals. These bars represent the passion and craftsmanship of the global bar community, and the 51-100 list serves as a precursor to the live reveal of The World’s 50 Best Bars 2024, which will take place in Madrid on October 22nd.
Highlights from the 51-100 List
- Bars from the USA lead the ranking, with a total of seven bars featured across New York, Miami, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.
- Smoke & Bitters in Hiriketiya makes history as the first-ever entry from Sri Lanka, debuting at No.86.
- UK bars dominate Europe, with four establishments making the list, including three new entries: Kwãnt Mayfair (No.52), Amaro (No.90), and Viajante87 (No.99).
- Asia is well-represented with 13 bars on the list, including new entries from Singapore, Hong Kong, and Kuala Lumpur.
Spotlight on Global Mixology Excellence

Leading the Pack: USA and Mexico
The USA leads the Americas with seven bars, including Dante (No.79), Katana Kitten (No.80), and Attaboy (No.84) in New York. Miami’s Café La Trova (No.66), and Los Angeles’ Thunderbolt (No.64) further solidify the country’s dominance. Mexico follows closely with five entries, led by Arca in Tulum (No.55) and Hanky Panky in Mexico City (No.93).
Strong Presence in Europe
The UK’s four entries are joined by bars in Greece, Italy, and Spain, with notable newcomers like Angelita in Madrid (No.65). Eastern Europe continues to hold its ground with Mirror Bar in Bratislava (No.62) and Nouvelle Vague in Tirana (No.95).
Asia’s Notable Newcomers
Singapore shines brightly with three entries, including Cat Bite Club (No.56) and Night Hawk (No.74). Hong Kong’s new entry, The Savory Project (No.82), adds to the city’s growing cocktail scene. Smoke & Bitters in Hiriketiya becomes Sri Lanka’s first-ever entry, showcasing the evolving cocktail culture in Asia.
Australia, Africa, and the Middle East Make Their Mark
Australia sees two bars making a return to the list—Cantina OK! in Sydney (No.96) and Above Board in Melbourne (No.100). Representing Africa, Nairobi’s Hero Bar (No.75) and Johannesburg’s Sin + Tax (No.81) continue to highlight the continent’s vibrant cocktail culture. Meanwhile, Dubai’s LPM (No.76) adds another accolade to the Middle East’s bar scene.
The full list of The World’s 50 Best Bars 2024 will be revealed at a live awards ceremony in Madrid on October 22, 2024. The event will be streamed live on The World’s 50 Best Bars Facebook page and 50 Best Bars TV channel on YouTube, allowing bar enthusiasts worldwide to join the celebration.
