Lady Bee Lima Wins Michter’s Art of Hospitality Award

Lady Bee in Lima has been named the winner of the Michter’s Art of Hospitality Award 2025, part of The World’s 50 Best Bars Awards sponsored by Perrier. This marks the first time a Peruvian bar has received the accolade, cementing Peru’s place as a rising leader in global hospitality.

One of the industry’s most coveted awards, the Michter’s Art of Hospitality is voted on by more than 800 anonymous experts from The World’s 50 Best Bars Academy. Members are asked to nominate the one bar where they experienced the most exceptional hospitality during the voting period. The award will be presented at a live ceremony in Hong Kong on October 8, 2025.

Founded in 2021 by Alejandra León, Alonso Palomino, and chef Gabriela León, Lady Bee was created to elevate Lima’s cocktail culture alongside the city’s acclaimed dining scene. Now located in the vibrant Barranco district, the team sources ingredients from the Amazon, Andes, and Pacific coast, working closely with local producers to craft a cocktail menu rooted in sustainability, biodiversity, and zero-waste practices.

The bar’s interior mirrors this philosophy: refined yet intimate, blending elegant design with symbolic honeybee motifs, locally crafted décor, and sustainable materials. Every detail encourages connection and storytelling, celebrating Peru’s cultural and natural heritage.

In just a few years, Lady Bee has become one of the world’s most celebrated bars, debuting as the Campari One To Watch in 2023 and rising to No.16 in The World’s 50 Best Bars 2024.

Emma Sleight, Head of Content for The World’s 50 Best Bars, said:

“Alongside their exceptional drinks, Alonso and Gabriela have created an effortlessly warm space where all are welcome to discover the wonders of Peruvian culture and ingredients. This recognition is a testament to the team’s passion and dedication.”

The founders expressed their pride:

“Pollination, our latest cocktail menu, represents the journey of the bee through Peru’s diverse ecosystems. Winning the Michter’s Art of Hospitality Award is a recognition for our entire team and the communities that support every ingredient.”

Matt Magliocco, Executive Vice President at Michter’s Distillery, added:

“It is a testament to how highly their peers value Lady Bee’s welcoming atmosphere and ingredient-driven approach.”

Lady Bee’s achievement goes beyond cocktails—it is a celebration of hospitality, culture, and community, now recognized on the global stage.
