Moët & Chandon 280th Anniversary

A Celebration of Timeless Elegance

In mid-November, we had the opportunity to attend an exceptional evening celebrating the 280th anniversary of Moët & Chandon at the elegant Lafayette cabaret in Belgrade. Under the theme “Celebrating life since 1743,” 350 guests from over fifteen countries relished not only the finest wines from the renowned champagne house but also an amazing program hosted by the Belgrade club.

Moët & Chandon’s extensive history of remarkable events has made it a global icon of celebrations. From royal courts to red carpets, from the famous Studio 54 to major sports events, the brand has united people for 280 years during special moments in their lives. After Sydney, New York, Tokyo, Paris, and London, this year, Belgrade had the privilege of becoming part of the brand’s rich history, bringing together guests from fifteen countries to celebrate the unique “art de vivre” deeply rooted in Moët’s DNA.

The event’s sequence paid tribute to the brand’s legacy in chapters – honoring women, life, sports, and the art of living. “For almost three centuries, Moët & Chandon champagne has been part of significant historical and personal events. This night was a significant event not only for Maison but also for Central Europe. We had the opportunity to gather our partners, colleagues, friends, and esteemed members of the Moët Society in Belgrade, along with a community of selected influencers who share Maison’s values of generosity and elegance. I hope all our guests took away a key message from this unforgettable evening, that life is full of opportunities to celebrate,” said Nóra Szegedi, Moët Hennessy’s brand manager for Central Europe.

Milan Gromilić, Lafayette’s artistic director, orchestrated beautiful cabaret dance performances complemented by the enchanting voice of jazz singer Lena Kovačević.

One of the evening’s highlights included a tasting of the exceptional Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2004, exclusively presented in a jeroboam size. This limited edition, produced in only 280 bottles worldwide, matured in cellars for over fifteen years and stands as a symbol of Moët & Chandon’s anniversary, reflecting the unique blend of maturity, complexity, and charisma of this champagne house.
